JOB PURPOSE

To seek and obtain new business, develop existing customer relationships, and support sales growth of Maen Karne's ready-mix cement, muckaway services, and loose aggregates across Cornwall.


MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

This is an important role within Maen Karne, with primary responsibility to:


  • Seek and close ready-mix sales opportunities in Cornwall accessible from Maen Karne's ready-mix plants at Hayle and Penryn.
  • Seek and close muckaway sales opportunities across Cornwall.
  • Provide support to, and as directed/requested by, Maen Karne's Building ProductsTeam.
  • Produce and provide formal quotations and maintain tender/won/lost records using Maen Karne/GRS sales systems.
  • Manage key relationships with groundworkers, hauliers and other key construction business in Cornwall.
  • Plan customer visits, phone calls and meetings and keep wider Maen Karne Sales Teams informed of activity and outcomes.
  • Coordinate activities with other Maen Karne Sales Teams, and champion a positive working environment.
  • To attend weekly management meetings and other meetings as directed by Sales Manager.
  • Work to achieve budgets and sales targets, and to support Credit Control Team as required.
  • Manage, document and resolve customer complaints in a timely and efficient manner.
  • To suggest marketing ideas that will engage customers and increase sales.
  • Maintain awareness of, and report on, competitor activity within the area and any potential impact this may have.
  • Ensure accuracy of all reports and paperwork and submit them to required deadlines.
  • Any other additional tasks as may be required by Sales Manager.
  • To promote the company image and develop good customer and company relationships.


KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING, QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED TO DO THE JOB


  • Must have previous sales experience.
  • Knowledge of the Construction/building materials Industry desirable.
  • Must have a Clean driving Licence.
