About the Role

As a Relief Unit Supervisor at Aspens Services Ltd, you will play a crucial role in supporting the catering operation for schools within your region. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the delivery of high-quality food and service standards to students and staff.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Lead and develop a team of kitchen staff, providing coaching, training, and motivation to achieve exceptional results.
  • Support the control of catering operations, including stock, food, and labor costs, to maintain profitability and efficiency.
  • Ensure consistency in food and service standards across all schools, adhering to company policies and procedures.
  • Drive sales through innovative promotions and added-value events, enhancing the overall customer experience.
  • Manage and improve controllable costs, optimizing resources to achieve business objectives.
  • Oversee menu development, ensuring it meets the needs of students and staff while maintaining profitability.
  • Maintain company systems and procedures, ensuring compliance with legislation and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure standards are being met, identifying areas for improvement.

**Requirements:**

  • OND or HND qualified in a relevant field (desirable but not essential)
  • Valid driving license
  • Experience in a craft-based environment, utilizing fresh ingredients
  • Knowledge of health and safety practices
  • Financial understanding of gross profit management and achieving sales targets
  • Line management experience
  • Experience within a similar environment
