Storm overflows are very provocative and not acceptable to our customers and stakeholders. We want to lead the charge in resolving the current situation. That’s where our Clean Rivers & Seas Task Force comes in, creating pioneering and industry-leading solutions to reduce spills and reliance on overflows whilst also enhancing the environment for our communities. Currently are delivering a £45million pathfinder programme which rapidly expands to £1.5billion over next 10 years. The programme has been very successful and we are now expanding the team so we can continue to work in partnership to deliver a larger programme of sustainable and innovative interventions to reduce the use of storm overflows.

A brand-new position has been created to join our Clean Rivers & Seas Task Force as a Technical Specialist.

Job Overview

The role is instrumental to the success of delivering the overflow reduction needed in AMP8. It will involve analysing wastewater catchment performance, modelling scenarios, proposing and reviewing technical solutions and monitoring performance.

You will identify the causes of overflows; you will be able to find the right solutions to those and support the team delivering them You must have experience in wastewater networks You will monitor and analyse the solutions that are implemented, conduct modelling & analysis to ensure we capture the benefits of solutions and steer the future solutions based on learnings Support innovative approaches for analysis with technical lead and other thought leaders internally, in academia, across the UK water industry and the supply chain Able to communicate data and findings to a technical and non-technical audience

About You

You will have an innovative, curious and creative mindset You will be engaging and able to build strong relationships internally and externally You have superior data analytical skills and be able to use big data sets; hydraulic modelling would be advantageous You have a can-do attitude and can overcome complex challenges and obstacles Degree level qualifications in engineering or other analytical specialty would be advantageous but not essential

Package

This role will be full time Monday to Friday with a hybrid approach to working between our one of our offices and home; we really are flexible on this. We are offering a salary of circa £50,000 per annum depending on skills and experience as well as other benefits including:
