Role Summary
As a member of the Maternal Medicine team the post holder will be responsible for providing midwifery care to pregnant women with pre-existing co-morbidities. As the post holder you will provide direct maternity care to these women in conjunction with the maternal medicine consultant and multidisciplinary teams (MDT). Working in collaboration with the individual woman you will assess, plan, implement and coordinate their maternity care pathway. Working collaboratively with the other team members you will assist the on-going development of maternal medicine care pathways and frameworks in line with national policies as a key member of the maternal medicine team. You will be accountable for the overall provision of excellent, evidence based, woman centred midwifery care to women in the outpatient, inpatient and community settings.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Midwife to join our team at Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. We ask that the successful candidate has a passion for caring and providing maternity care to a wide group of women with complex pregnancies but with a specific focus on maternal medicine and diabetes. The successful applicant will work in the outpatient area as well as in partnership with the multidisciplinary team.
We are seeking a motivated individual with excellent interpersonal skills who is passionate about working within an evolving team that delivers excellent care for our women.
As the potential post holder, you will provide direct clinical care for women with medical issues in conjunction with the maternal medicine and obstetric teams. You will work closely with women to plan and coordinate their care based on individual needs. You must be able to demonstrate evidence of clinical leadership, be resourceful and have an ability to work autonomously in a highly demanding environment.
We take great pride in delivering holistic patient-centred care to our women and families. The multidisciplinary teams work and train closely together with an embedded MDT culture to meet the specific and individual needs of women who come from a wide range of social and cultural backgrounds with complex needs.
Working Pattern: hours per week, Typically Monday to Friday, 9am - 5pm with some variation. On call band roster requirement
