THE POSITION – Project Manager

Navtech Radar is looking for a talented and experienced Project Manager  to support the company through ongoing growth. In this role you will be ensuring the company’s ongoing success by ensuring the R&D hardware projects are kept on track and delivered on time.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Management of product engineering projects within multidisciplined R&D team
  • Provide feedback into and out of the team in relation to specific and current projects including monitoring any slippage and ensuring countermeasures to get back on track are implemented. 
  • Formation of project teams from team resource pool in conjunction with R&D Team Leaders
  • Help drive a cross-functional product team culture and champion the voice of the customer throughout the development process.
  • Support & influence continuous improvement initiatives within the team.
  • Lead meeting cadence on a weekly/daily basis including planning/retrospectives and daily stand-ups.
  • Report on project progress and status including progress to milestones, resourcing, blockers & risks.
  • Creation and maintenance of risk registers
  • Assist with budget creation and maintenance on a per project basis.
  • Be part of the Engineering Leadership team, contributing to the continued development of this function 
  • Work with the leadership team to continually improve the product development process 
  • Define reporting framework moving forward by way of identifying relevant metrics.
  • Development and execution of project plans

  • Ability to predict challenges and seek to proactively head-off obstacles
  • Strong sense of personal accountability for decision making and supervising team
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Demonstrate understanding of Project management processes, strategies and methods
  • Mentor, coach and develop rising talent in engineering field

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • A degree in a technical discipline is desirable but not essential. You will have the ability to communicate with and the the best out of engineers and other technical disciplines. 
  • Professional Project Management qualifications are not essential. What is key is an ability to understand and analyse the dependencies in a project and determine the best approach
  • Experience working in a high-level collaborative environment and promoting a teamwork mentality
  • Managerial experience applying analytical thinking and problem solving skills

SECURITY CLEARANCE

This role will require the successful candidate to undertake a pre-employment background screening check (either Basic DBS or BPSS)

 

Salary: 

Salary will be competitive based on this type of role within the Thames Valley.
