Job summary

If you relish a challenge and have a passion to help others an exciting opportunity has arisen for enthusiastic individual to work as a clinical support worker as part of Suffolk Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service. neurodevelopmental pathway Working alongside colleagues within the NDD pathway the post holder with have clinical oversight of the co-ordination of referrals to ensure that access to appropriate services is undertaken in a timely manner.

Applicants will need to demonstrate experience of working with children either in a health education or social care setting.

You will work as part of a dynamic and supportive multidisciplinary team offering diagnostic assessment and treatment for children where there are concerns regarding autism spectrum disorder, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder.

Within the service you will have opportunity to work alongside a range of highly skilled clinicians who are experts in this field including nurses, senior and clinical psychologists, occupational therapists, speech and language therapists senior clinical support workers and Consultant Psychiatrists with specialist interest in this field.

Personal: This is a countywide placement covering the East and West locality of Suffolk

UK Driving licence for this post is essential

Main duties of the job

To support the work the ADHD team in gathering information for assessment via school observations and professional liaison.

To contribute to assessment when required

To respond to calls, queries from families

To undertake specific pieces of work under direction of specialist nurses and consultant child and adolescent psychiatrist

Job description

Job responsibilities

Working under supervision you will assist in assessment visiting schools across the county undertaking objective observation and conduct interviews with support staff.

You will hold a caseload of young people under the multi-disciplinary team. You will conduct time limited interventions for children and young people, this will be individual or in a group setting.

You will participate and contribute to the multi-disciplinary meeting and monthly business meetings.

You will attend management supervision to monitor your performance and clinical supervision to fain support for your clinical work.

You will be expected to complete mandatory education and training to support and enhance your clinical practice and maintain safe standards of care.

The role covers a wide geographical area and it is essential that you are a car driver who is able to travel independently within core service hours to undertake essential clinical activities.
