We are looking for an enthusiastic Clinical Psychologist to join our EarlyIntervention in Psychosis service. The PIER Team (Psychosis Intervention andEarly Recovery) supports adults experiencing a first episode of psychosis

You will join a multi-disciplinary team committed to minimising theimpact of first episode psychosis on individuals and their families

You will be based at the Merlyn Vaz centre in Leicester city but travelcountywide to see clients in their homes and local communities

You will work closely with other Clinical Psychologists in the team and be well supported in this rewarding role in a service that really valuespsychological perspective and input. Training and ongoing professional developmentwill be prioritised

The PIER team is part of an established, psychology led, trauma informedPsychosis Pathway within the Trust. You will join a network of experiencedpsychologists and psychological therapists committed to promoting anon-pathologising understanding of distress aimed at reducing stigma, promotingempowerment, and increasing social inclusion

There are senior psychologists in strategic positions within the Trustleading on our Transformation process. It is an exciting time to join us and agreat place to work as a psychologist as services become increasingly traumafocused and formulation driven

Main duties of the job

You will receive clinical supervision and linemanagement from a senior psychologist in the PIER Team.

You will hold a case load anddeliver evidence-based psychological interventions for psychosis andco-existing mental health issues including family interventions.

You will work within a multi professional andrecovery-oriented framework.

Youwill work with senior colleagues to ensure the continued provision of highquality, responsive psychological therapies which meet NCAP therapy targets,support Step Up to Great Mental Health Service development plans and help toshape a psychologically informed service wide Psychosis Pathway.

Youwill support research, audit and evaluation within PIER.

You will support members of the MDT tocompetently deliver the care required and provide supervision and mentorship topeers and other MDT members.

Skills in the use of complex methods of psychological assessment, intervention and management of risk Well developed skills in the ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing Experience of providing consultation to other staff groups outside clinical psychology. Doctoral level knowledge of research methodology, research design and complex, multivariate data analysis as practiced within the clinical fields of psychology

Qualifications

Essential

Honours degree in Psychology or with Psychology as the main subject. Eligibility for Graduate Membership of the British Psychology Society Doctorate in Clinical Psychology or UK HCPC approved and recognised equivalent qualification in Clinical Psychology.
