The Leigh Academy has a rare and exciting opportunity for a Coordinator of Learning - Drama to join us for the next academic year. We are looking to appoint an innovative and enthusiastic colleague, dedicated to giving our students an outstanding Drama education. 

At The Leigh Academy we offer drama to all students in Key Stage 3, as a subject within our International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme. We then offer BTEC Performing Arts Drama Level 2 and Level 3 in sixth form. It is a popular subject and many of our students achieve higher than the national average. We are looking for an experienced teacher who may be taking their first step into subject leadership, or someone with leadership experience already looking for a new challenge. 

We have excellent facilities with two drama studios and a lecture theatre all with professional standard lighting and sound equipment. We are looking for the right person who wants to develop performing arts across the academy with regular performances including all of our community. 

This is a permanent opportunity starting from September 2024, offering a salary of MPS/UPS dependent on experience + London Fringe Allowance + TLR2a (£3,409).

Being part of Leigh Academies Trust : As of 1st April 2024, our Trust comprises 32 geographically organised academies (16 secondaries, 14 primaries and 2 special) educating more than 20,000 students and employing 3,000 talented staff.
