The Opportunity

They are seeking a Leadership and Management Development Senior Consultant to transform current and future development needs across all levels of their organisation—from executive leadership to early-career stages—into practical, innovative programs and learning interventions. This role will be critical in equipping their leaders and managers to effectively deliver their organisational strategy.

As a subject matter expert, you will bring a thorough understanding of leadership and management requirements and the ability to design and deliver cutting-edge development programs. Your work will be integral to the People & Transformation team, contributing significantly to their organisational goals through collaboration and support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and implementation of future-focused, relevant, and cost-effective leadership and management development solutions aligned with business plans.
  • Manage external procurement for program design and delivery, ensuring quality and effective contract management.
  • Deliver leadership and management development solutions, including executive coaching, workshops, and consultancy services to support tailored solutions.
  • Support the Talent Development strategy, addressing identified needs through leadership and management initiatives.
  • Establish robust impact measurement for development programs, utilizing insights to demonstrate performance impact.
  • Develop collaborative approaches to strengthen leadership across Essex County, fostering key partnerships.
  • Work closely with People & Transformation and People Business Partnering teams to design and implement cross-functional programs.
  • Define and achieve individual and shared targets within the performance management framework.

Experience and Skills Required
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to deliver projects swiftly.
  • Significant expertise in Leadership and Management Development across all levels, with a pragmatic approach to program execution.
  • Proven problem-solving skills, research capabilities, and support for other practitioners.
  • Expertise in designing and applying impact evaluations to development programs, using evidence-based practices.
  • Experience in learning and business needs consulting, guiding stakeholders through collaborative decision-making processes.
  • Confident in facilitating workshops and events, creating engaging content.
  • Strong diagnostic, problem-solving, and analytical abilities with strategic thinking skills.
  • Ability to manage complex projects across multiple teams, from inception to completion.
  • Coaching qualification is desirable.
