Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Urology department to join our Endourology and general urology team as a Patient Pathway Coordinator.

The post holder will actively manage the administrative processes attached to patient treatment pathways, ensuring a smooth and efficient service for both the multidisciplinary team and patients. They will deliver a high-quality administration service, a positive patient experience, and excellent customer service.

Both written and verbal excellent communication skills are expected along with experience of maintaining databases and confidence in using Excel. The role requires someone who is proactive, willing to take ownership and accountability, and able to manage a high-volume workload.

This vacancy has been advertised in accordance with the new NHS pay rate which will take effect from autumn 2024. Please note if your employment starts before the 24/25 pay scales are implemented you will be paid under the 23/24 pay scales and any backpay will be adjusted accordingly. Main duties of the job

It is a full-time post working alongside a multidisciplinary clinical team and admin team. We are looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic candidate who demonstrates knowledge and skills with a focus on maintaining and achieving high quality patient care. Strong interpersonal skills are essential as the role involves working closely within a multidisciplinary team.

Good organisational and communication skills, flexibility, accuracy, and the ability to work autonomously, with attention to detail, within a busy environment are key attributes. A good working knowledge of Excel is crucial to this role.

The post holder will be a team player who must promote and contribute towards achieving the Trust's UCLH top ten objectives, and demonstrate our Trust Values, behaviours and standards.

Person Specification

Knowledge and Qualifications

Essential

Educated to GCSE level or equivalent, with Grade C or above in English and Maths. Knowledge of administrative procedures, acquired through training and/or previous experience of working in an administrative environment. Awareness of the requirement to maintain confidentiality, and knowledge of the Data Protection Act.

Desirable

NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration, Customer Service, Healthcare Support Services or equivalent qualification.

Experience

Essential

Experience of working in a customer facing, nonroutine environment with demonstrable evidence of being able to respond to queries and deal with unpredictable situations as they arise (acquired through experience and/or training to Vocational level 3 or equivalent). Previous NHS experience, or experience of working in a healthcare setting.
