The Global Segment Marketing Manager is responsible for growing wallet share in his/her segment, globally. He/she is the expert in their segment globally while also driving regional expertise across all segments. The Global Segment Marketing Manager is the subject matter expert in his/her segment globally, regularly presenting to and advising executive leadership on areas of opportunity, growth, and results.

Corporate strategy set the direction/target. (Focused on: WHERE, WHEN AND WHY). Marketing Strategy translates that direction into how do we penetrate that new market or take more share from existing customers etc. (Focused on: WHO and HOW?). Marketing COE + Field Marketing + Portfolio work together to realize the campaign plan and product marketing alignment (Focused on: WHAT?). The Segment Marketing Manager translates corporate direction/strategy into targeted marketing execution for the relevant segments. 

Regional Point of Contact is responsible for coordinating the marketing strategy activities for the designated region (EMEA). Align and cooperate with the regional Sales, LOB, and marketing teams to ensure a comprehensive marketing plan in support of the region’s strategic business plan. 

What kind of work will you be doing?

Responsible for tracking and growing share of wallet across segments. Act as the leading SME in his/her segment globally, arming leadership and lines of business with pertinent, actionable data for informed decision making. Align with Corporate Strategy and Strategic Market Insights team to quantify and measure market size, trends, area of opportunities & investment. Understand and measure growth/potential growth for segments.  Align with LOBs to study competition to differentiate Vertiv offerings.  Create value props across segments, regions, and key personas. Be a bridge for Solutions Marketing to ID/align offerings and message value to buyers. Ingest detailed, technical, industry data, synthesize that data and output recommendations for the business. Engage internal stakeholders across functions and regions to guide product development, messaging, sales enablement, etc. Align with global, and regional, sales leadership (including channel) to coordinate and shape sales intel gathering and analysis. Provide feedback to adjust sales strategy to align with customer/market segmentation insights.  Brief, and liaise with Marketing COE to provide clear direction on new campaign development focused on customer and market segments. Brief and liaise with field marketing leadership on implementation of global customer/market segments in region + development of regional customer segmentation campaigns.  Brief and liaise with business and customer insight team on implementation of customer/market research and assist in deployment of the resulting insights into the marketing strategies of regions and COEs. Feedback with portfolio marketing to potentially develop segmentation strategy around new and existing products and new product development.  Provide support to existing analyst relations and market intelligence teams on new intelligence sources, analyst engagement and influence Support campaign strategy, content development (aligned to secondary analyst or primary customer research) 

What Would Be the Perfect Qualifications?

Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, project management or relevant field. Ability to quantify market trends and process large amounts of data into actionable points. Minimum 7 years’ experience in segment marketing, planning, technical sales, and/or application engineering. Experience with developing go-to-market strategies and building market entry models for new products and services. Excellent written and verbal communication. Captivating, persuasive presentation skills. Must be able to handle many projects, adapt to changing priorities, and work well under pressure. Exceptional organizational skills and strong attention to detail. Strong technical knowledge and the ability to learn new technology/applications quickly. Proven ability to develop relationships and work cross-functionally to achieve a common goal.  Experience managing and resolving conflicting viewpoints—remove/solve roadblocks as they come up.
