The role

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for an Administrator to support our Recruitment and L&D functions for both fee-earners and business services staff. This is a brilliant opportunity to join our dynamic and forward-thinking HR team and be directly involved in the growth of Winckworth Sherwood. The position will offer you a wide variety of work and by the nature of the role, the opportunity to meet a wide range of stakeholders across all our internal teams.

Recruitment

You will play a key role in assisting the Recruitment Manager to attract and select the highest calibre lateral and graduate talent from a diverse candidate pool. Essential to this is providing an excellent candidate experience and turning things around quickly.

Lateral (experienced hire) recruitment

We would like you to:

  • Advertise positions both externally (working with Marketing and external job boards), and internally via our intranet
  • Work closely with agencies and internal stakeholders regarding interview set-up and feedback
  • Liaise with external third parties as appropriate
  • Track everything on our applicant tracking system (Allhires)
  • Set up searches on LinkedIn and assist with talent mapping
  • Conduct salary benchmark research
  • Assist with collating data for reports to the business
  • Administrate the candidate pre-boarding and on-boarding journey, including liaising with our external referencing partner (Giant), and various internal stakeholders
  • Assist with project work including EDI initiatives.

Trainee (graduate) recruitment

Your support will be particularly important during busy periods of the year including application deadlines, vacation schemes, assessment days, work experience weeks and our trainee induction week.

We would like you to:

  • Liaise with candidates regarding the status of their applications and keep key business stakeholders updated on progress
  • Keep the recruitment portal up to date (Apply4law)
  • Book rooms or set up virtual interviews
  • Help organise our vacation scheme and assessment days
  • Manage the schedules on TopScore (assessment centre platform)
  • Help organise our trainee induction week
  • Help organise our diversity and social mobility initiatives working closely with organisations such as The Sutton Trust, Aspiring Solicitors, UpReach and the Social Mobility Foundation.

Learning & Development

You will play a key role in assisting the L&D Manager coordinate and deploy a comprehensive approach to development at the firm for fee-earners and business services staff.

We would like you to:

  • Support the L&D Manager to coordinate development programme logistics, including scheduling, registrations, room bookings
  • Act as the first point of contact for L&D queries, manage course attendance, cancellations, no shows and highlight any issues
  • Prepare materials and work with the L&D Manager to develop course content
  • Build high quality relationships with external training providers and internal stakeholders
  • Collate course feedback, analyse respondent data and make recommendations to enhance the offering
  • Maintain training records and analyse data to identify relevant department specific trends
  • Support with ad hoc L&D projects and strategy.

ABOUT YOU

  • Some previous experience in a similar role or office administration focused position
  • Highly organised and has good attention to detail
  • A passion for people and providing excellent client care
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt your communication style to meet the needs of different audiences
  • Excellent IT skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), with a love for exploring how technology can streamline processes
  • Able to build effective relationships with the team and other internal and external stakeholders. Able to converse with senior leaders of the business
  • Discretion and sensitivity in relation to confidential information
  • A proactive mindset
  • Good at working under pressure, often to tight deadlines
  • Able to manage time effectively and prioritise workload from different members of the team
  • Willing to work outside of core hours when events require it.
