DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POST:Clinical Duties and Responsibilities:To participate in the provision of the full, technical echo service and be working towards BSE accreditation in the foreseeable future if not currently obtained (where funding is provided and BSE accreditation achieved, the applicant will be contracted to stay within the department for (2) years post-accreditation).To assist with the efficient running of the technical service by prioritising daily maintain standards of technical competency in the provision of non-invasive, technical cardiac assist lead echocardiographers in prioritising inpatient requests for echocardiograms on a daily basis by liaising with ward/medical staff and ensuring availability of technical staff and resources in conjunction with the Lead Echocardiographers and Operations Manager & Principal Cardiac be responsible for the day to day area of work, ensuring that all equipment is operational, that all equipment and non-disposable items are cleaned, and that stock levels are sufficiently be responsible for identifying equipment faults, and directly resolve fault issues by reporting them in a timely manner to lead echocardiographers and/or lead provide interpretation and full technical reports performed and be involved in reviewing/assisting with the reporting of studies performed by junior staff effectively, promptly, and professionally respond to emergency situations maintaining control and requesting assistance as assist with research studies as assist during the full range of non-invasive cardiac procedures undertaken within the department when remain up to date with latest trends in clinical physiology translating these into practice and transferring this knowledge to staff within ones area of ensure all patients receive appropriate and individualised undertake service provision and/or training in other areas of Clinical Physiology, as be available to participate in the 7-day working rota for echocardiography.Managerial:To deputise for the Operations Manager & Principal Cardiac Physiologist and /or Lead Echocardiographer when necessary for management of the be responsible for the management of junior cardiac physiology assist with the recruitment and retention of staff within the assist lead echocardiographers with all aspects of the organisation and performance of the echo service including management of the echo rota if/when work with the Operations Manager & Principal Cardiac Physiologist where necessary to ensure procedures are in place to achieve Government targets in Cardiac Physiology echo assist the lead echocardiographers with the development/alteration of protocols, guidelines, and policies within the department in order to achieve IQIPS implement local policies and guidelines and ensure these are adhered to at all times and ensure these incorporate current professional recommendations and evidence based practiceTo work in accordance with standards set by the British Society for Echocardiography, the Society for Cardiological Sciences and Technology (SCST), and the Registration Council for Clinical Physiologists (RCCP)To become familiar with the use of Cerner, PRISM, CRIS, and any other computerised systems integral to the running of the department.Communication with manufacturers/suppliers regarding stock and/or equipment management;
