We are seeking a suitably qualified Cardiac Physiologist to join our team at Ashford and St Peters NHS Foundation Trust. We are a very active department providing a wide range of investigations and are looking to expand our team of multi-skilled cardiac physiologists as our Invasive services expand.

The post holder will still benefit from the opportunity to rotate through all aspects of the department. We have a busy Pacemaker/ICD implant and follow-up service; we are the leading implant centre in Surrey for ICDs and CRTs with an extensive remotely-monitored patient population.

Our Cardiac Unit carries out diagnostic and interventional catheterisations including FFR, OCT, IVUS, IABP, alongside Electrophysiology Studies, RF ablation and simple/complex device implantation.

Applicants should have a substantive cathlab and pacing post qualification experience including remote monitoring management. BSc in Clinical Physiology/ HTEC MPPM (or equivalent) and RCCP registration is desirable. Extensive knowledge and experience in invasive techniques are essential. Further post-graduate learning is desirable (HRUK/IBHRE). Successful applicants would be expected to potentially rotate across both sites (Ashford & St Peters Hospital and Woking Community Hospital)

To provide skills and teamwork in the Clinical Measurements Department working in non-invasive and invasive services to ensure delivery of a quality clinical service.

To undertake and teach diagnostic angiography, PCI, Pacing implant/follow-ups, remote monitoring service and non-invasive diagnostic tests at a high level.

To maintain a progressive learning environment within the department to ensure the development of all members of staff.

To work within a 24/7 service and work weekends on a rotational basis on-call.

To participate in the provision of the technical invasive cardiology service and assist during the full range of cardiac procedures undertaken within the angiography suite.

To undertake and teach diagnostic angiography, PCI, Pacing implant/follow-ups, remote monitoring service and non-invasive diagnostic tests at a high level.

To maintain standards of technical competency in the provision of all technical cardiac procedures (invasive and non-invasive - including pacing follow-ups, exercise testing, tilt testing, ambulatory monitoring, and ECGs).

To assist with the efficient running of the technical service by prioritising the daily workload where appropriate.

To effectively, promptly, and professionally respond to emergency situations maintaining control and requesting assistance as necessary.

To be responsible for identifying equipment faults, and directly resolve fault issues by reporting them in a timely manner.

To provide first line interpretation and full technical reports of individual tests performed whilst reviewing/assisting with the reporting of studies performed by junior staff members.

To remain up to date with latest trends in clinical physiology translating these into practice and transferring this knowledge to staff within one’s area of responsibility.

To assist with research studies as required.

To ensure all patients receive appropriate and individualised care.

To undertake service provision and/or training in other areas of Clinical Physiology, as required.

To participate in the 24/7 on-call service provided by the Clinical Physiology department, as required and on a rotational basis.

**Managerial**:
To ensure that all data entered on the invasive database is timely and accurate and that statistical records and audits are produced when required.

To deputise for the Operations Manager & Principal Cardiac Physiologist and/ or Chief Cardiac Physiologists when necessary for management of an area within the department.

To be responsible for the management/appraisals of junior cardiac physiologists

To assist with the recruitment and retention of staff within the Clinical Measurements Department
