To undertake a range of routine non-invasive cardiology investigations including ECG, ambulatory monitoring, and assistance with exercise treadmill tests if competencies permit. To perform the recording of electrocardiograms (ECG) on adults, paediatrics, outpatients, and inpatients in a variety of departments including A&E, NICU, and Labour wards, as requested. To set-up, fit, and instruct patients on how to use ambulatory ECG and blood pressure monitors, and download recordings to ensure they are ready for analysis. To prioritise and organise inpatient requests for ECGs and ambulatory monitors, reporting to senior colleagues the volume of requests and the action for implementation on a daily basis.

To effectively, promptly, and professionally respond to emergency situations, summoning appropriate assistance as necessary by raising the alarm and taking guidance from senior colleagues. To demonstrate technical proficiency in the range of investigations undertaken including advanced interpretation of ECG and ambulatory monitoring results with supervision and support from senior colleagues. To work towards SCST Part I certification in ECG Educational: To actively participate and commit to maintaining own personal professional development, identifying educational and clinical training needs in conjunction with the Cardiac Investigations Manager. To ensure that own mandatory training is up to date.

**Administration**: To communicate efficiently on the telephone with all staff, patients, and visitors. To register patient attendances on the departments PRISM database. To be familiar with Cerner to track patient progression, case notes, and patient episode details To be familiar with Cerner to track patient progression, case notes, and patient demographic and episode details To be trained in the use of CRIS system. To book appointments onto PRISM, facilitating the Trusts Patient Choice policy.

To telephone patients who fail to attend for their appointment, rebooking patients as per patient choice, and to telephone outstanding returns of ambulatory monitors. To amend patient bookings to reflect any changes in their procedure from that initially booked onto the database. To order portering services on the Cerner to facilitate movement of patients and/or equipment. To carry out general clerical duties to include photocopying, filing, and faxing.

To collect, collate, and disseminate results from within the department to requesting doctors, secretaries, clinics, and wards. To participate in quality assurance and audit activities as required. To maintain cleanliness and tidiness in the department and take responsibility for ensuring completion of cleaning rotas in the area of work. To assist with effective stock control within the ECG department To be cost-effective in the use of equipment and resources.

To undertake any other reasonable duties at the discretion of the Cardiac Investigations Manager or her deputies. To assist with all aspects of the organisation and performance of the ECG service when requested/required. Personnel: To conduct self in a professional manner and act as a role model to junior staff/students at all times. To demonstrate leadership, achieving good morale with open communication between all levels of staff and disciplines.
