Main duties of the job

At Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, our vision is to provide outstanding care for every patient. Patient care is at the heart of what we do at our three hospitals in Basingstoke, Winchester and Andover, as well as in the care we provide in the community. We provide medical and surgical services to a population of approximately 600,000 across Hampshire and parts of West Berkshire and specialist services to people across the UK and internationally.

This role is situated within the Head and Neck department, the successful candidate will work specifically within ENT and will work closely with consultants, doctors and clinical staff to ensure the smooth running of services.

The ENT department provides services across all of the Trust's sites, Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital, Royal Hampshire County Hospital, Andover War Memorial Hospital and Alton Hospital

Our unit in Basingstoke Hospital provides outpatient, day case and elective services to our patients.

Training & Qualification

Essential criteria

Good standard of general Education including English Language, maths of GCSE or equivalent Or ECDL Certificate Or Formal secretarial/senior administration training Or NVQ2 or equivalent plus relevant experience

Desirable criteria

Customer Care Training Or similar

Experience & Knowledge

Essential criteria

Experience in supervising a team Experience of supervising a team in a large, complicated organisation Experience of developing new processes. Experience in implementing change. Able to demonstrate from previous employment history evidence of job-related achievements and success Experience of performance management Experience/ Knowledge of the 18-week pathway

Desirable criteria

Previous experience of using databases NHS experience in an Acute Trust Knowledge of outpatient clinic structures, waiting lists and outpatient operational procedures. Good insight into the importance of NHS performance and quality standards
