Overview

An exceptional opportunity has arisen within the Wessex Operations division for an Operational Resilience Project Coordinator. In this pivotal role, you will serve as the primary point of contact for all operational resilience initiatives, focusing on the formulation and execution of comprehensive route-wide emergency, major event, and business continuity strategies, along with the necessary systems and tools.

Key Responsibilities

1. Spearhead the creation of route-wide emergency strategies to ensure adherence to industry standards and Network Rail's Emergency Protocol.

2. Develop the annual emergency exercise schedule in collaboration with route and other essential stakeholders.

3. Direct all tactical and operational engagement with local resilience forums to guarantee that the route's responsibilities as a category two responder are recognized and fulfilled.

4. Organize the route's emergency planning training, development, and competency requirements in line with best practices.

5. Serve as a key communicator for disseminating information and materials related to emergency planning.

6. Oversee the planning and execution of significant events and activities, including national ceremonies, engineering blockades, infrastructure enhancements, and timetable modifications.

7. Create a calendar for major events, coordinating the development of all related Gold command event plans.

8. Manage the route's operations for all special train services as necessary and related projects.

9. Formulate and implement the route's business continuity planning and management activities in close collaboration with relevant stakeholders.

10. Maintain the Gold Command handbook and the Directors 'on call' handbook, along with associated processes and tools.

11. Assist in the development and execution of contingency plans for train services and possessions in partnership with the Performance and Control teams.

Essential Qualifications

- In-depth understanding of railway operations and standards.

- Strong interpersonal, influencing, communication, and organizational abilities.

- Proven experience in emergency planning, security, or a related field.

- Familiarity with Network Rail Wessex, train operating companies, and freight operating companies within the region, along with key business aspects.

Desirable Qualifications

- A degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience in railway operations.

- Experience in managing major incidents or crises.
