Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the urological cancers administration team at Charing Cross Hospital's Urology department. The post holder will be primarily responsible for co-ordinating and managing the Prostate Cancer clinics and thus will be required to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team alongside Consultants, registrars, nurses, other pathway co-ordinators within the Urology Service.

The post holder will work closely with the relevant team members to ensure that patient pathways are co-ordinated effectively, patients for Prostate service are booked into the appropriate clinics and that a high quality customer service is provided.

The successful candidate will be highly motivated and organised with an ability to prioritise and problem solve in a busy working environment. Communication is key for this role and it will be expected that the post holder can demonstrate the ability to communicate with patients and staff across all disciplines. The successful candidate should have some knowledge of cancer waiting time targets.

Main duties of the job

The pathway co-ordinator will be primarily responsible for the co-ordination of Urology outpatient clinics to ensure patients are seen in line with clinical urgency and national access targets. The post holder will be expected to provide a high standard of administrative support by working closely with a wide range of clinical and managerial staff. Moreover, they will be expected to organise and prioritise their own workload and to assist colleagues ensuring continuity of service at all times.
