Are you an experienced and highly motivated professional looking for a new challenge in a dynamic and forward-thinking local authority? West Berkshire Council is seeking a Complaints and Access to Records Manager to join our People -CFS team, reporting to the Executive Director, People -CFS.

As the Complaints and Access to Records Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the effective management and resolution of complaints, as well as overseeing access to records requests. You will be responsible for leading a dedicated team, providing guidance and support to ensure a fair and transparent process.

Key responsibilities:

Manage and oversee the complaints and access to records functions within the People -CFS service Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and best practice Provide expert advice and guidance to staff and stakeholders on complaints and access to records matters Drive continuous improvement, identifying opportunities to enhance the customer experience Produce regular reports and analysis to inform decision-making

To excel in this role, you should have:

Extensive experience in complaints management and access to records, ideally within a public sector or regulatory environment Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, such as the Local Government Act 1974 and the Freedom of Information Act 2000 Excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with a wide range of stakeholders A proactive and solution-focused approach, with the ability to work effectively under pressure
