Underwriting Assistant - Salary of Circa £26,000 DOE

Aviva are currently seeking an Underwriting Assistant to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity to be a part of a growing team, the role can be based across the UK, and you will benefit from Aviva’s smart working arrangements, with a mix of home and office working.

A bit about the job:

As an Underwriting Assistant, you’ll provide an outstanding service to our customers and brokers. You’ll drive new business and professional relationships, directly contributing to the underwriting profit and loss, trading, and service delivery goals.

Although this role is based across the UK, we would need you to get in to one of our offices at least 50% of your working week.

We also offer support in studying for relevant CII qualifications.

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

Previous Underwriting experience in either Motor Trade or Property & Liability is preferred but not essential as full training will be provided

Proven record of delivering excellent customer outcomes along with good knowledge of IT including spreadsheets and word processing

Strong communication and negotiation skills; with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team

Strong organisation and prioritisation skills and ability to manage own workload and work to deadlines

Demonstrate desire to build knowledge and gain experience in the insurance industry

Salary of Circa £26,000 (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)

Bonus opportunity - 6% of annual salary Actual amount depends on your performance and Aviva’s.
