The role:

Aircraft Dispatch Manager

If you are passionate about the airport environment and airside operations, able to multi-task, interact, coordinate and lead colleagues from multiple departments, be a champion for our customers and want to work in a role that is critical in ensuring we remain compliant in an ever-changing environment, this could be the role for you.

The ideal candidate will be operational-savvy, comfortable interacting with customers and colleagues, and commercially astute. You’ll work alongside teams to deliver the high standards of service our customers expect, lead by example whist meeting safety and security regulations. You will also ensure our business remains dynamic and flexible to meet any and all challenges.

If you are comfortable working in a dynamic, ever-evolving role that has a direct impact on our Heathrow operation, this could be the role for you.

This role requires you to be full time during the training period ; initially approximately 6 months. Flexible/part time working can be considered post this.

What you’ll do:

· Responsible for ensuring safety, regulatory and security compliance are adhered to on the day

· Delivery of on the day performance and punctuality of individual flights and/or an airside zone

· Working with and leading the customer gate teams, ramp turnaround teams, onboard teams and 3rd party partners, ensuring our business requirements are delivered

· Oversight and audit check of BA aircraft to ensure delivery standards of are met consistently and to the correct standards

· Actively manages response to disruption both in an airside zone, specific aircraft and across the wider LHR campus

· Responsible for leading and supporting the LHR station emergency response plans

What you’ll bring to British Airways:

· Exceptional communication, organisational and prioritizing skills

· Ability to influence and negotiate to ensure best service is delivered

· Operational experience preferred

· Resilient under pressure where parameters of time, resources and demand fluctuate

· Report writing skills and attention to detail

· Developed analytical skills and problem-solving skills

Your experience:

· Be in possession of a full UK category B driving licence for a manual vehicle and have no more than 3 penalty points.

· Able to complete and pass a valid airside driving test and obtain a licence.

· Ability to obtain a basic DBS check.

· A responsible attitude towards safety and security in a demanding environment.

· Successfully pass your training and shadowing period.

· Able to work a shift pattern that covers a range of times (inc include nights).
