Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Aircraft Steps Driver Night to join our team at ABM. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for safely driving and operating aircraft steps to allow products to be embarked and disembarked, as well as positioning the steps onto the aircraft.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely drive and operate aircraft steps to ensure the safe and efficient movement of products.
- Position the steps onto the aircraft, ensuring accurate placement and secure attachment.
- Conduct regular vehicle safety checks and report any issues to the maintenance team.
- Accurately complete and return secure clean and vehicle defect documentation.
- Collaborate with the allocations team to ensure seamless communication and coordination of aircraft arrival times, delays, and secure cleaning turnaround times.
- Ensure the cleanliness and presentation of the vehicle are maintained at all times.
- Provide excellent customer service to passengers, assisting them as required.
- Adhere to airline and airport policies and procedures, as well as ABM's health and safety protocols.
- Responsible for signing in and out equipment and maintaining a safe working environment.
- Clean a range of aircraft internally, including vacuuming carpets, wiping down equipment and surfaces, cleaning all seats, seatback pockets, tray tables, and replacing damaged magazines.
- Security check the aircraft in line with the Covert Testing Procedures.
- Clean and restock aircraft consumables.
- Fold blankets, store blankets and pillows in overhead compartments.
- Remove rubbish from the aircraft and ensure proper disposal.
- Work as part of a team, ensuring good knowledge of all areas of the operation and aircraft.
- Ability to complete assigned tasks in a timely manner while complying with the company's expectations, rules, and procedures.
- Assure the proper handling of hazardous materials, correct use of uniform, safety vest, earplugs, and safety behavior actions inside and outside the aircraft.
- Be professional in appearance and manners towards co-workers, clients, and any other person within the airport and work location.
- Exceed Prime Flight customer service and safety standards.
- Carry out other duties as assigned.
Health and Safety Responsibilities:
- Always follow Group and company policies and procedures.
- Report any apparent deficiencies in systems of work or equipment provided that may result in failure of service delivery or risk to health and safety or the environment.
- Use all work equipment and personal PPE properly and in accordance with training received.
- Report any issues or training needs to your Line manager and/or via your divisional incident reporting system.
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a driver, preferably with passenger transport.
- Desirable previous experience as a driving steps and positioning onto aircrafts.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Physically fit and able to handle manual tasks.
- Strong attention to detail and vehicle maintenance knowledge.
- Ability to work well in a team and independently.
- Flexible availability to work various shift patterns.
- Valid UK driving license.
- A general understanding of H&S legislation.
- Computer literate.
