The International and Private Care Directorate at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children NHS Trust is a quaternary centre of excellence for treating sick children and for teaching and training paediatricians.

These posts provide an opportunity to care for a tremendously varied group of patients in a quaternary centre of excellence.  We anticipate that these General Paediatric posts will help you gain unique middle grade experience working with children with complex needs either at the end of your general paediatric training or prior to specialist training.

You must register first before you can apply for the post.

We conduct full criminal record checks on all successful candidates.

Main duties of the job

The purpose of this post is to supervise the day-to-day clinical management and care of patients admitted to the Harris International Patient Centre by the various specialist units within the hospital. The Trust Fellow is expected to undertake daily ward rounds each morning along with the ward or lead consultant and nursing team and hand over pertinent details, at the end of the day, to the Hospital at Night team.

We are committed to being a diverse and inclusive employer and foster a culture where all staff are valued, respected and acknowledged. All applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, colour, national origin, religion, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, age, disability status or length of time spent unemployed.

We have policies and procedures in place to ensure that all applicants and employees are treated fairly and consistently. We are proud to be accredited as a Disability Confident Employer, a member of Business Disability Forum and a Stonewall Diversity Champion.

We have active and Executive supported BAME, LGBT+ and Allies, Disability and Long-Term Health Conditions and Women’s staff networks.
