Experience required… 

Essential: 

Chartered engineer (or working towards) Experience in design and analysis of coastal defences and associated structures, from concepts through to detailed design Design experience of coastal structures, including flood defences, breakwaters, revetments, quay walls, groynes and beaches Knowledge and experience of appropriate codes and standards, including BS6349, EurOtop manual and rock manual Knowledge in ocean waves, tidal theory, extreme value statistics, nearshore wave processes and sediment transport

Desirable: 

Relevant design software skills (GIS Mapping, AutoCAD)
