You’ll work with external partners (i.e. councillors, local authorities) to build a positive environment for our customers to live in.

The position requires the fostering and expansion of partnerships with community-based organisations, ensuring these relationships are managed and coordinated effectively. This involves overseeing the efficient allocation of resources and programme management within set budgets and timelines, aimed at addressing pressing community issues such as mental health, public transportation, and substance misuse.

You’ll conduct and present regular progress reviews detailing achievements against set objectives, to VIVID and Rushmoor Borough Council, in collaboration with residents. Secure external funding – including through supporting local groups in applying for grants and carrying out other fundraising activities. You’ll carry out ad hoc site inspections on behalf of the business – including project sites, community centres to ensure community centres are effectively managed, comply with health and safety legislation and where managed externally are self-sustaining – providing suitable space for the development and delivery of social enterprises.

The community development officer will have good awareness & understanding of the Social Housing sector, with an understanding of section 106 requirement & associated funding. You’ll be proficient in Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) principles and practices, demonstrating an ability to leverage community strengths and resources for sustainable development. You’ll bring a wealth of experience in developing & leading community projects and be confident in building relations with internal and external customers. You’ll need to be able to travel between sites as part of your role, so you’ll need a full current driving licence with access to a vehicle.
