Job Description

As People Experience Lead, you will report into the Head of Talent and take accountability for understanding the importance of the right culture; the mindset, ways of working and behaviours, to help us deliver on our desire to attract, inspire and retain talented people, and ultimately help us achieve our ambitious business goals.

What you'll be responsible for:

This is a brand new role in our structure and the initial focuses will include engagement, Colleague and Clinician value proposition, Support Office events, recognition, wellbeing and overall accountability for evolving our people experience. 

  • Driving the development and implementation of the People Experience strategy and framework, in conjunction with the business and our values, that looks at touchpoints, interactions and moments that matter throughout the colleague lifecycle and identify opportunities to elevate experiences at these points.
  • Leading on understanding and acting on current engagement levels. You'll have ideas that go beyond annual surveys and a desire to focus on solutions that are meaningful, in the moment and show colleagues that we really care about their experience.
  • Driving improved participation rates for engagement surveys and activities, to ensure results are reflective of a wide range of our population.
  • Analysing insight and sharing your perspectives with stakeholders, challenging them to take accountability for building a culture of high performance and high engagement.
  • Managing the engagement survey calendar and communications relating to engagement; taking the lead on survey design, frequency and action planning activities for the business.
  • Managing supplier relationships with our engagement survey provider.
  • Review and identify opportunities to improve employee advocacy and metrics that indicate whether this a great place to work e.g. external reviews sites.
  • Identify and explore opportunities to improve colleague experience that would support us in entering awards e.g. great place to work.
  • Be a key contributor in developing and launching of our Colleague and Clinician Value Proposition in conjunction with key stakeholders from the business. Weaving this through key touchpoints with our people.
  • Leading on the organisation and facilitation of Support Office events.
  • Leading the design of a Recognition strategy that includes long term, sustainable initiatives that recognise outstanding performance aligned to our values.
  • Anticipating people experience market trends to drive continuous improvement to the colleague experience.
  • Reviewing and assessing our policies and processes and the impact these have on our people, making recommendations for change and improvement where appropriate.
  • Reviewing and recommending improvements to or onboarding approach that positively impact engagement from the start of the employment journey
  • Connecting with our people to understand and give them a voice in all our plans using things like forums, events etc. to do so.
  • Leading the design of a Wellbeing strategy that includes long term, sustainable initiatives that put this topic on the map throughout the year.

Your skills and experience:

As you can see, there is lots to do and so we are looking for someone who has real expertise and experience in a similar role to help shape our people experience. Here are some of the things that are important to us:

  • Experience in a similar Culture and Engagement role with breadth of experience in delivering this type of work across merging businesses.
  • Experience of managing projects to successful outcomes in a complex and highly professional environment, with a particular focus on stakeholder management and engagement.
  • Experience of leading on EVP development and launch.
  • Confident and comfortable in technology, digital and commercial environments.
  • Someone truly passionate and knowledgeable about colleague experience and the impact on performance, attraction and retention.
  • Exemplary verbal and written communication. with the ability to use straightforward language to share ideas and data to inform thinking.
  • Ability to influence with strong commercial acumen and bring in external perspective to drive our creativity and thinking.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while keeping focus on both short- and medium-term objectives.
  • Thrives in a challenging environment, with the ability to remain agile and deliver solutions in the face or unforeseen circumstances and changing business requirements.
  • A collaborative working style, pragmatic and positive in approach.
