The successful applicant will join the Practice education team and contribute to the delivery of ICU-specific training, assessment and support for Registered & Non-Registered Nurses in ICU in order to maintain a skilled and competent workforce, using the national CC3N competency framework.
To liaise with the ICU Clinical Matron / Clinical Nurse Manager (CNM) and the Learning and Development Service to support the assessment and education of Registered Nurses and non-registered Practitioners within ICU.
To devise, plan & deliver training programmes as required to support ICU Registered Nurses during their transition to ICU. This will include their induction, Preceptorship and on-going development needs new starter days).
To actively participate in the teaching, delivery and assessment of in-house / partnership university-accredited ICU modules.
The applicant will need to have a sound knowledge of all aspects of adult critical care and experience in paediatric critical care.
The Unit delivers an accredited adult ICU course with Plymouth University, together with a paediatric Intensive Care nursing course.
Applicants will need to have a minimum of 3 years experience at Band 5 or equivalent and able to demonstrate knowledge and experience of critical care nursing. Evidence of on-going professional development is essential.
