Assistant Vice President

EMEA Syndications Centre manages, leads, coordinates and develops structured lending business and primary/secondary syndication activities within the EMEA region. As an Assistant Vice President Structured Finance, you will analyse and review existing Structured Finance transactions primarily focused on renewable and infrastructure sector transactions within the EMEA region. You will monitor the Bank’s Structured Finance business and identify ancillary opportunities so as to facilitate the delivery of strategy and business objectives of EMEA Centre and Bank of China (BOC) Group. You will prepare credit analysis reports as well as business screening memos and market sector research with the aim to support the EMEA branches’ business execution. This is a full time permanent position.

Key responsibilities

  • Write concise business review reports and identify key credit risks. Lead and complete the internal credit process in line with the Bank’s policies and requirements
  • Analyse strengths and weaknesses of projects/structure in such transactions by taking into account the technology and commercial contracts proposed, regulatory and legal backdrop, and counterparties involved
  • Construct and review complex Structured Finance models and key ratios and concepts used in them
  • Undertake regular market  and industry research with a view to manage the Bank’s risk appetite and credit policies
  • Liaise and work with clients, other departments, overseas branches of the Bank and external professional counterparties to  prepare, negotiate and execute appropriate finance documentation ensuring that the Bank’s position is protected at all times
  • Maintain and manage ongoing relationship in relation to clients or BOC branches with a view to maximise the overall return for the Bank
  • Identify opportunities to cross sell other departments’ products to existing clients within the EMEA region with particular focus on the development of deposit and Interest Rate Swap (IRS) and Forex (FX) businesses
  • Work with BOC branches across the EMEA region in order to support their business in Structured Finance
  • Undertake market sector reports and ad hoc reports for Head Office

Requirements

  • Degree educated in Finance, Business or other equivalent
  • Solid experience within the Financial Services industry focusing on Structured Finance and Project Finance
  • Experience and knowledge of projects in the renewable and infrastructure sector in the UK and ideally in the EMEA region
  • Knowledge of Corporate Banking products
  • Knowledge of the regulatory requirements including Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Counter-Terrorist Fraud (CTF), fraud, sanctions and Anti-Bribery and Corruption (ABC)
  • Good marketing and sales skills
  • Commercial awareness
  • Excellent communication skills
