Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Specialist School Nursing Team in Redbridge. We are looking for an enthusiastic and qualified Children's Nurse to join our friendly team as a Specialist School Nurse.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with children, young people and their families, who have complex health needs and would like to expand their knowledge within this speciality. The post holder will be supported by our well established multi-disciplinary team, working closely with the MDT to support children and young people with complex health needs.

Main duties of the job

The main duties of the job include, but are not limited, to the follow:

1. Ensuring that the Specialist School Nursing Team delivers a service according to the outcomes of the every child matters agenda in order to improve health outcomes for children and achieve Redbridge's key targets

2. Assessment of individual children in preparation of the development of Management of care plans for use in school.

3. Demonstrate specialist skills by critically analysing, assessing and managing the health needs of complex family situations and safeguarding to reduce health inequalities

4. To highlight the changing needs of the population through health profiling and manage the delivery of the Specialist School Nursing Service as required to meet the changes

About us

Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff). Starting with NELFT NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focusing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex. High Cost Area Supplement - London This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (minimum payment of £4,313 and a maximum payment of £5,436 per annum pro rata).
