Salary: £18,000 Pro rata plus £1,000 welcome bonus
A well-regarded secondary school in the NN6 area of Northampton, rated "Good" by OFSTED, is known for its inclusive ethos and strong commitment to supporting pupils from diverse backgrounds. Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain laboratory equipment and materials for science lessons
- Assist teachers with practical demonstrations and experiments
- Ensure the safe storage and disposal of chemicals and other hazardous materials
- Maintain a clean and organised laboratory environment
- Manage and order laboratory supplies and resources
- Support the science department in delivering high-quality education
- Assist in the development and implementation of health and safety policies and procedures
- Participate in departmental meetings and training sessions
Requirements:
- Enthusiasm and good organisational skills
- Flexible approach to work and ability to work to deadlines
- Previous experience in a science-based occupation or a science qualification (particularly in Chemistry or Physics) would be beneficial
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
