A well-regarded secondary school in the NN6 area of Northampton, rated "Good" by OFSTED, is known for its inclusive ethos and strong commitment to supporting pupils from diverse backgrounds. The school fosters positive relationships between staff and students, creating a welcoming and nurturing environment. Personal development is a key focus, with a wide range of extracurricular activities available to help students grow both academically and personally.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and maintain laboratory equipment and materials for science lessons
  • Assist teachers with practical demonstrations and experiments
  • Ensure the safe storage and disposal of chemicals and other hazardous materials
  • Maintain a clean and organised laboratory environment
  • Manage and order laboratory supplies and resources
  • Support the science department in delivering high-quality education
  • Assist in the development and implementation of health and safety policies and procedures
  • Participate in departmental meetings and training sessions

Requirements:

  • Enthusiasm and good organisational skills
  • Flexible approach to work and ability to work to deadlines
  • Previous experience in a science-based occupation or a science qualification (particularly in Chemistry or Physics) would be beneficial
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
