In this role, you will engage closely with faculty members and fellow technical staff to facilitate the effective delivery of educational sessions within our department. Your responsibilities will include providing adaptable, technical, and procedural assistance in specialized teaching domains and simulated settings. You will collaborate with the Lead Technician to organize and sustain a consistent workflow of support throughout the academic term. This encompasses preparing equipment, aiding in clinical simulation activities, and developing practical solutions and resources for our diverse programs.
Efficiency in time management is crucial to ensure the seamless operation of our services, guaranteeing the readiness of resources and timely replenishment of equipment. The role may involve physical tasks related to setting up equipment to fully support educational activities.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will possess experience in setting up practical equipment and providing support, along with proficiency in various software applications. Strong planning, prioritization, and organizational skills are essential to meet objectives. You should be adept at multitasking and demonstrate initiative and creativity in problem-solving. Teamwork experience is necessary, as well as the ability to manage the physical handling of equipment.
Previous experience in a higher education context would be advantageous.
A solid understanding of health and safety regulations, including familiarity with relevant policies and legislation, is also important.
Required Qualifications
Essential:
- GCSE (or equivalent) qualifications in English, Science, and Mathematics
- Two A levels or equivalent
Desirable:
- A degree (or equivalent) in a relevant field of expertise
Department Overview
The Faculty of Health, Education, and Society is the largest within the institution, encompassing six Subject Areas: Childhood, Youth and Families, Education, Health Professions, Nursing, Psychology, and Sociology and Social Therapies.
You will be part of the Faculty Administration Team, contributing to the delivery of programs across multiple Subject Areas. The Faculty currently utilizes simulation technologies to enhance teaching and is seeking to expand the integration of these methods into programs to enrich the learning experience and increase realism.
