Please note this is a shift-based role, during training shifts will be 8:30 am – 5pm, following the training period this will change to 2pm-10pm.
The Company:
Our client is a manufacturer of specialist chemicals including aromas and fragrances. They supply globally and now have a requirement for a Quality Control Technician to join their shift rota. This is a routine quality control position in a fast-paced industrial setting. Reporting to the Quality Control Manager, the successful candidate will support the production team and will ensure all incoming and outgoing raw materials and fragrance batches are subjected to the relevant quality control tests. The company offers 25 days' holiday, pension, life assurance.
Salary:
£28,000 following the 3 month training period.
Location:
This Shift QC Technician role is located near Northampton, commutable by road from surrounding areas including Kettering, Wellingborough, Corby, Rugby etc.
Shift QC Technician Role:
Your main duties will be to:
- Perform quality control tests to determine differences in quality.
- Investigate and record non-conformances and reworking according to specification.
- Release raw materials, fragrance batches and laboratory batches after testing.
- Assist production with any queries relating to raw material or production batches.
- Proactive re-testing of all batches and materials due.
- Problem solving and issue of clear rework instructions.
Your Background:
The ideal candidate for this role will have the following skills and experience:
- Excellent sense of smell and a keen eye for detail being able to accurately record all data - essential.
- The ability to work efficiently and effectively under pressure, in a team and as an individual - essential.
- Good problem-solving skills with good time management - essential.
- Able to offer flexibility required to cover shifts - essential.
- Experience of performing quality control on aromas and fragrances would be an advantage.
- Ideally A Level qualified in Science.
