Operating for over 30 years, our client specialises in transporting full and part loads both to and from the UK. With a modern fleet of over 160 HGV units, the company offers a wide range of services to their customers.

In this role, you will grow the revenue stream by managing existing portfolios and generating new sales year after year. To succeed in this role, you will bring your previous sales experience in the transportation of goods, particularly focusing on movements between the UK and Ireland.

Your ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships and your forward-thinking attitude along with your desire and ability to succeed in today’s climate will ensure you hit the ground running

Are you the right person for the job?

  • Have a minimum of 5 years top level sales experience in the haulage industry building custom between the UK and Ireland.
  • Be a seasoned professional with a proven track record of delivering on targets
  • Be very well connected within the logistics and transport industries across Ireland and the UK
  • Be customer focused and passionate about delivering a first class customer experience
  • Have the ability to prioritise your workload in order to achieve targets and ensure excellent levels of customer service are achieved at all times
  • Be highly motivated by challenges, negotiation skills and your ability to close deals will be essential in achieving your goals

What will your role as a Business Development Manager look like?

  • Deliver an outstanding customer service experience and build a first-class reputation for quality and excellence
  • You will manage the day-to-day relationships with the customers and deliver a first class after sales experience, including the timely resolution of any issues that arise; to ensure that customer expectations are met at all times
  • Identifying and evaluating prospects to win new business
  • Identifying new opportunities with existing customers
  • Develop and maintain a high quality pipeline of target customers and opportunities.
  • Support the operations where necessary
  • Conducting market research on competitors’ pricing and market success to gain insight into customer preferences and interests
  • You will actively prospect for new business on a day-to-day basis, providing daily and weekly written updates to the business
  • Provide daily, weekly and monthly reports and updates to the business
