Job summary

This is a cross site role to provide corporate Trust strategic leadership for the Advanced Clinical Practice (ACP) agenda.

Provide expert input into divisional workforce development planning to provide expert advice and where appropriate support senior divisional leaders to implement ACP roles in place in line with the Trust strategic agenda

Maintain an overview and lead the development of the Trust Trainee ACPs in line with the Trust SOP which will include:

Recruitment and selection of trainee ACPs.

Overview of ACP progress on pathway with the ACP Clinical Educators.

Linking with the HEIs for student progression, including tripartite meetings.

Main duties of the job

Essential

Registered healthcare professional (NMC, HCPC , GPhC). Education to master's degree level or equivalent. Professional post qualifications in relevant clinical area Autonomous clinical practice qualification

Desirable

Doctorate level study Leadership qualification ALS instructor

Experience

Essential

Senior leadership role in nursing / AHP practice Experience of working within the clinical speciality in at an advanced practice level Experience of formal teaching within a wide range of forums Demonstrable interest in and commitment to the professional development of self and others.

Desirable

Senior leadership role within the area of speciality. Experience of presenting at senior management or board level forums

Knowledge and Skills

Essential

Ability to organise and manage daily departmental activities and the activities of large multidisciplinary team within this. Physical assessment, history taking, requisition of appropriate investigations and the interpretation of their results, formulating differential diagnoses and liaising/referring to other multidisciplinary teams. Ability to teach advanced skills in a clinical environment Communication skills - able to relate and communicate with patients and staff at all levels and from different professions. Adapts communication style as necessary and is able to work with and through others.
