About the role

In Hammersmith and Fulham, our parking enforcement team strives to provide a high quality of civil enforcement action to facilitate free movement of traffic and quality rotation of parking spaces both within our car parks and on street. Educating the public and enforcing our parking restrictions helps us maximise compliance. By providing residents, visitors, and businesses with easy access to parking, we contribute towards making Hammersmith and Fulham a great place to live and work.

On-Street Suspensions Team provides an on-street service for suspension of controlled parking bays. Also, the erection and taking down of suspension signs which inform the public of a suspension. 

To make subsequent visits to locations to be suspended, issuing further warning notices to, and recording details of, any vehicles parked in the area to be suspended. To ensure that erected suspension signs are replaced and repositioned as necessary.

Make use of council vehicles, where necessary, and perform daily vehicle checks (i.e., water and oil), routine maintenance and vehicle cleansing (post holder must holder driving license in a relevant category).

Safely operate and utilize all plant, tools and equipment required for the post (e.g., ladder, hand tools), in accordance with relevant Health and Safety regulations.

To undertake surveys, keep accurate records and provide photographic evidence in relation to the suspension of bays.

To strengthen our current team, we need motivated, knowledgeable, and focused individuals. The person appointed will be expected to support the existing On-Street Suspensions Team Leader with the day-to-day operational tasks in achieving the team SLAs, by ensuring on-street service tasks are carried out effectively, fairly, and consistently across the borough.
