The EPC and O&M HSSE manager will report to the Head of EPC and O&M HSSE. The position shall support him in fulfilling his HSSE duties. The EPC and O&M HSSE manager will be responsible for the implementation and monitoring of HSSE across ib vogt’s project pipeline, following international standards including ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and ISO 50001 as well as Worldbank ESG Guidelines and IFC Performance Standards. This position will provide leadership and coordination for the overall Construction and O&M HSSE management and the day-to-day HSSE requirements to fulfil local HSSE- and ib vogt´s policy requirements.
- Ensuringcompliance with applicable Health, Safety, social, and environmentalregulations and standards including ESG requirements across ib vogt’s EPC andO&M business as well as corporate function of UK legal entity.
- Developing,Implementation and managing HSSEprograms in EPC and O&M.
- ManagingHSSE ib vogt and HSE subcontractors teams.
- Coordinatewith the EPC and O&M management team, the corporate ESG department andcorporate HSSE colleagues on implementation of the ESMS in construction andoperational assets.
- PerformingSite HSSE audits/inspections as required.
- Recording,making analysis and reporting on HSSE metrics
- Preparing,maintaining and advancing Operational HSSE tools, templates, plans etc. incoordination with the Head of EPC and O&M HSSE and the EPC and O&Mmanagement team.
- HSSEQualification, assessing, managing contractors/subcontractors.
- Identifylocal occupational health & safety, social, and environmental regulationsand standards in countries with ib vogt EPC and O&M activities (based onagreement with Head of EPC and O&M HSSE).
- Assist inthe coaching, mentoring and implementation of the HSSE programs on site.
- Incidentinvestigation and Route Cause Analysis management.
- Emergencypreparedness management.
- PPEmanagement, and improvement.
- Insurethat HSSE training programs are on place.
- Developing,keeping effectiveness and supportive relations with internal and externalstakeholders.
- Act asthe point of escalation for local EPC and O&M HSSE issues.
- Coordinatethe Occupational Risk Prevention Plan with the activities in the photovoltaicplants in the EPC and O&M phases.
- Promoteand manage proposals for improvement in health, safety and the environment.
- Review ofwork procedures and contracts, identify needs and create and expand HSSEprocesses
- Managementand ensuring of preventive activities in the EPC and O&M phase as far isreasonably practicable.
- Ensureincident and accident corrective actions are followed up on and completed.
- Directlysupport the development of globally relevant HSSE software, documentation, andstandards.
- Bachelor’s degree, in a related field or equivalent working experience.
- Minimum 5 years of occupational health and safety managerial experience.
- Knowledge of electrical installations and renewable energy projects.
- Knowledge of the solar sector is beneficial.
- CDM (construction Design and Management regulation) knowledge.
- Knowledge in implementing management systems.
- Good Microsoft office and Excel skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with full proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
- Experience with social aspects in projects is a plus.
- IOSH chartered member will be a plus.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Flexible, positive attitude, and attention to detail.
- Good team player, ability to work and support the team.
- Willingness to travel and work on the project sites.
- Management level occupational health and safety certification e.g. NEBOSH international general certificate in occupational health and safety.
- Fire marshal certification
- First aid training certification
- Management level environmental certification ex. NEBOSH environmental management certificate.
- Social certification e.g. SA8000 Introduction & Basic Auditor Training
