Job Summary:
Kin Tec Global Recruitment is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead the operations department of a company in the petrochemical industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with health, safety, security, and environmental (HSSE) regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operations Compliance: Ensure that all operations are conducted in accordance with HSSE regulatory requirements, including risk assessments and permit-to-work procedures.
- Department Management: Manage the operations department efficiently, effectively, and within budget.
- Team Leadership: Lead operations personnel professionally and fairly, maintaining a proactive and constructive relationship with the union and participating in collective bargaining negotiations.
- Succession Planning: Develop and implement succession planning for shift operations, recruiting and developing staff as necessary to maintain operations capabilities.
Requirements:
- Education: An engineering degree, preferably in chemical and process engineering.
- Experience: At least ten years of industrial experience, with at least five years as a senior process engineer or operations manager in a petrochemical or oil refining industry.
- Skills: Good IT skills, experience in leading teams, and a good working knowledge of operational procedures and processes.
- HSSE Experience: Practical experience in applying and complying with HSSE and environmental industry requirements, including workplace safety, regulatory compliance, and process safety systems.
- Leadership: Experience in dealing with people at all levels in an organization, including frontline staff and directors.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to deal with conflicting priorities and progress multiple work strands simultaneously.
