The business area European Wind and Solar (E) is responsible for development and ownership of wind and solar assets in Europe. The business area is also responsible for the project execution of large projects in Statkraft across the energy technologies, the group procurement function and new business opportunities.

The HSSE team in Statkraft’s Project Delivery Unit is responsible for HSSE management during all phases of project execution and for developing and implementing the HSSE practices across all the business area’s activities. It is also responsible for HSSE expertise and resources in these projects.

We are growing our business in the UK, and need an HSSE Advisor in the UK to strengthen the business area’s HSSE team. The position will be based in London or Glasgow.

Travelling will be required as you will need to be periodically present at our construction sites for follow-up in UK, and at our office locations in London and Glasgow.

You will report to the HSSE Manager UK, with a functional line to the HSSE dept. at the corporate headquarters in Oslo.

Your role:
As HSSE Advisor your main responsibilities will be to:

- Have the role as HSSE Advisor for the project portfolio, all projects within onshore wind, solar power, and grid systems advising the project managers on HSSE matters from early development throughout to operations handover.
- You will coach, manage and follow-up our local HSSE resources designated for each project.
- Liaison with contractors HSSE staff in construction projects
- Contribute to the establishment of a good HSSE culture in the projects - including project kick-offs
- Participate in relevant activities in all phases of project development and acquisitions
- Carry out HSSE reviews, inspections and audits across the business area’s activities
- Lead or participate in investigations of serious incidents
- Assurance, investigation and other support HSSE activities to projects elsewhere in our project portfolio is expected (outside UK)
- Be responsible for the implementation of efficient HSSE work processes in our projects in the UK in accordance with Statkraft governance, also cooperating with UK HSSE
- Liaison with authorities and government bodies, including participation in safety forums and technical committees on behalf of Statkraft

**Qualifications**:

- University degree in engineering or equivalent
- Relevant experience within the HSSE in an industrial work environment
- IOSH & NEBOSH Trained
- Knowledge of ISO:45001
- Practical experience from execution of large construction projects, preferably within the renewable energy industry
- Detailed knowledge of UK HSSE legislation and CDM Regulations 2015
- Result oriented, structured and flexible with ability to create good work relations
- A team player, who can work independently and with ability to drive the HSSE improvement work
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
