An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 Learning Support Assistant to join a friendly and inclusive mainstream Secondary school in Daventry, Northamptonshire. This position involves working closely with pupils in KS3 and KS4 who have Autism and ADHD - providing crucial support and guidance throughout their educational journey. We are looking to recruit a caring, committed and positive Learning Support Assistant to join our knowledgable support team. The successful candidate will need to have the flexibility to work with both rewarding and challenging situations independently and as as part of a committed and supportive team. We are looking for a special person to work alongside the class teacher, providing support for teaching and learning opportunities for a child with complex needs who may display challenging behaviour. Enthusiasm, patience.

Role Overview: As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with a diverse range of special educational needs.

Your responsibilities will include:
• Collaborating closely with teachers to cater to individual student requirements.
• Assisting students during classroom activities, ensuring their engagement and understanding.
• Providing one-on-one support to students with personal care and Social Emotional needs
• Implementing behavior management strategies and maintaining a positive learning environment.

Qualifications and Experience: To excel in this role, you should have:

• A genuine passion for working with students with special educational needs.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to adapt to varying student needs.
• Minimum 1 yr of experience working in a school or care setting in the UK (Mandatory)
• Proficieny in English Language (Mandatory)
• Right to Work in the UK (NO Sponsorship Provided. Candidates on Skilled Worker Visa are not eligible for this position)

•Previous experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) or ADHD is desirable
• A patient, understanding, and empathetic approach, with the ability to build rapport and establish positive relationships with young learners.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, parents, and external professionals.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
