Hours: Monday - Friday, 5:30 AM - 2:00 PM

Role Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Materials Planner to support the logistics of raw materials from suppliers through import to site operations. As the Materials Planner, you will collaborate closely with the Production Planner to manage schedules and forecasts, ensuring the right volumes of materials, goods, and products are inbound to the business from its supply chain companies. The Materials Planner will handle all direct Material Purchase Orders, work towards supplier lead times, manage target stock levels, minimize write-offs, oversee supplier performance, and provide both short and long-term forecasts.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring materials are readily available to meet production plans and achieve target service levels.
  • Identifying demand requirements and managing orders with suppliers in line with SLAs.
  • Proactively tracking purchase orders to ensure on-time delivery and meeting all advanced requirements before goods are received.
  • Monitoring stock levels in line with inventory stock holding targets and seeking lead-time improvements.
  • Collaborating with the Production Planner to avoid additional costs from plan changes.
  • Managing day-to-day supplier performance and reporting supplier performance data.
  • Supporting change projects impacting direct material requirements, such as Pack Change and NPD.
  • Providing holiday cover for the Production Planner.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Proven experience as a Materials Planner within a chilled food environment
  • Strong analytical and numeracy skills with forecasting experience, ideally from an FMCG background.
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel and Word skills.
