Your new company 
The Main School occupies an impressive eight-acre site in the centre of Belfast, with modern and specialised facilities.
The Preparatory Department, Inchmarlo, is self-contained within its own site in the Malone Road area of South Belfast and is exceptionally well-equipped for all aspects of teaching and games.
Seeking to appoint a Grounds Assistant to assist in maintaining the school’s facilities to ensure an appropriate and safe environment for the pupils and staff. This is a permanent full-time post.
Work as part of a team to maintain the school’s facilities, in particular the grounds, to ensure an appropriate and A safe environment within which to provide the teaching of the curriculum and other activities by pupils.This role includes work demanding physical effort and working in unfavourable weather conditions when necessary.The role also includes working flexibly to support provision of school sport, such as working outside contracted hours and on Saturdays, when required.
Your new role 

General preparation of sports areas to include rugby, cricket and soccer pitches.Maintenance of grounds including grass, hedges, perimeter areas, landscaped areas, paths and driveways, including clearing of snow and ice from school paths and roads when required and collection of leaves and litter.Maintenance of pavilions, including cleaning of changing rooms, showers, toilets, clearing of drains and gutters etc.Operation of tools and equipment to include light tools e.g. rucksack sprayer, and tractor mounted equipment as necessary and appropriate.Erection/dismantling of sports equipment.Driving motor vehicles, to operate tractor mounted equipment, to use power-driven tools and operate relevant plant and equipment.Preparation of cricket squares, both grass and artificial, to meet the standards expected by the school.Emptying external litter bins.Additional Duties:The driving of school vehicles (if suitably qualified); andThe upkeep of a compost dump.
Other DutiesGeneral porterage duties;Support the staff in providing a safe learning environment.Other duties that can reasonably be expected within the role.
What you'll need to succeed 
Skills and AbilitiesAbility to work as part of a team and independently.Strong numeracy and written communication skills with attention to detail and accurate record keeping.Ability to manage time proficientlyQualifications/ ExperienceHold GCSE’s in Maths and English (minimum grade C), or equivalent.Hold Level 2 in Sports Turf-GreenkeeperExperienceRecent experience (the last five years), of working in a sports environment, preparation and marking of sports pitches (rugby & cricket etc.).Recent experience (the last five years), of working in a school environment.
