Want to do the best work of your life? Playing your part in making a big difference to the environment and communities we serve. Our people make Severn Trent a truly exciting and inclusive place to work – a place where you can be yourself and let your skills shine.

Our purpose is taking care of life’s essentials, but we’re also big on making a difference, not just because we should but because we care.

Which is why we are investing over £billion into waste treatment construction projects over the next five years to improve the services we provide.

We have a brilliant opportunity to join our  Capital and Commercial Services  directorate as a  Consultant Manager  in our  Waste Treatment Design Team.

Reporting directly to the Design Business Leader, the Consultant Manager will play a key role in ensuring the successful delivery of our Capital Programme. The Consultant Manager will lead an integrated team of staff and consultants to develop engineering and process solutions.

Accountable for a direct team, you will work alongside your team and the supply chain partners to develop a strong working relationship with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the successful design, delivery and handover of projects.

Ideally qualified in a technical engineering or design related discipline you will be an experienced engineer with a strong background in design, leading successful design teams in a highly regulated industry such as water, Petrochem, pharmaceutical or power. A strong team manager, with excellent planning and implementation skills, you will have experience of leading design projects to ensure designs are delivered to time, cost and quality. You will have extensive experience of implementing CDM regulations in the design process and strong understanding of risk management in construction and operational design. You will have experience working with a diverse team of different skillsets and building capacity and mentoring other engineers.

You will have excellent internal and external stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build relationships with a diverse range of people. You will be a forward-thinking innovator, capable of anticipating challenges and responding to change in a rapidly evolving environment. You will be able to make educated judgments and decisions in the face of ambiguity, and have a good grasp of the bigger picture, seeking opportunities to contribute to the wider agenda.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

The right skills and experience are important. But if you have the right character, positivity and a caring attitude we want to talk to you, too.

We welcome people from all walks of life and celebrate individuality as we know diverse minds, experiences and backgrounds help us to learn and better serve our communities. We want people who show up and get involve. Those who are ready to be part of something bigger and who want to make a difference because they care. Is that you?
