MainResponsibilities:
  • Conductdaily animal husbandry duties, including feeding, watering,cleaning, animal handling and animal observations as directed bythe team leader or Buddy.
  • Complete dailymonitoring and reporting of the animal unit environment includingtemperatures, and the security and suitability of animalhousing.
  • Conduct cleaning and maintaininganimal rooms, associated areas and equipment, in accordance withwork instructions.
  • Completion of all relevantdepartmental records, including day books, production data reportsand stock availability records.
  • Receiving &dispatching of goods in/out of animal facility, using correctsterilisation procedures to maintain animal barrierstatus.
  • The production, birthing, weaning,sexing, counting and weighing of animals.
  • Theability to implement basic animal breeding systems and anunderstanding of the importance of replacement breeding stockselection criteria.
  • Re-housing and grouping ofanimals in accordance with Home Office guidelines, as directed byteamleader.


Knowledge,Skills, andExperience:

Education/ workexperience:
  • Level 2Diploma in Animal Management.
  • Experienced inroutine manual work that requires attention todetail.
  • Experience in routine animalhusbandry.
  • Experience in animal handling of allspecies onsite.
