**Trainee Animal Technician**

As a Trainee Animal Technician your responsibilities will revolve around the care and well-being of animals, and you will play a crucial role in maintaining the standards at our client's state-of-the-art facility. In addition, you will have the privilege of participating in our client's cutting-edge training.

This role offers an enriching experience to not only contribute to animal husbandry and welfare but also to receive comprehensive training and guidance, equipping you with the skills and knowledge needed to excel in the life science sector. **Responsibilities**
- Washing of animal cages using wash machine or manual method, as directed
- Cleaning and maintaining the animal rooms and associated areas to the company’s written standards
- Handling animals competently with due care and in line with policy and guidelines
- Regular enrichment and care for the animals
- Selection of animals for routine Health Monitoring submissions
- Daily feeding, watering and observation of the animals alongside routine welfare and environmental checks
- Receiving and dispatching of goods into and out of the barrier, with correct use of the sterilization procedures to maintain barrier status

**Qualifications & Requirements**
- Passionate about animals and animal welfare
- Experience handling animals or relevant qualification
- Strong work ethic and good attention to detail
- Honest and respectful, in line with our client’s core values
- Organized, self-motivated and able to work to timeframes
- GCSEs in Maths and English or equivalent qualifications

**Job Types**: Full-time, Temp to perm

**Salary**: £20,000.00-£21,000.00 per year
