Animal Care Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Animal Technician to join our team at the University of Cambridge. The successful candidate will be responsible for the daily care and maintenance of animals within our biofacility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform general husbandry tasks, ensuring the welfare requirements of rodents are met.
- Maintain accurate records of environmental parameters, health monitoring, and general hygiene tasks.
- Assist with colony management and completion of procedures, including Home Office Licensed procedures.
- Collaborate with team colleagues and research staff to ensure the smooth operation of the biofacility.
Requirements:
- Hold an Institute of Animal Technology Level 2 or equivalent qualification, or at least GCSE (A-C) in English, Maths, and a Science subject (ideally Biology).
- Be able to interact positively with team colleagues and research staff.
- Have experience working with rodents in IVCs or conventional caging, and completing regulated procedures or surgery.
