As a Commercial Manager at Casepak, i t will be your purpose to grow volume from Commercial and Industrial sectors focusing on Printers, Box Makers and Retailers to enhance existing branch network and core business activities. You will support MRF growth within the Local Authority sector and assist in the development and implementation of a medium-term marketing strategy in support of brand and market share growth.

Some of the tasks and responsibilities are:

Identify and source potential commercial opportunities and long-term business partnerships. Support the Commercial team by ensuring tenders, offers and other contract submissions are delivered accurately to a high quality and on time and in line with Company objectives. Determine and prioritise future business growth opportunities. Effectively maintain and manage relationships with existing, new, or prospective suppliers while driving improved profitability through managing price negotiations and service level agreements to ensure best value. Gather and analyse market intelligence, keeping the Company Board of Directors updated on market developments. Ensure that new business gained is managed in accordance with agreed margin/profitability criteria.

Experience needed from you:

A proven track record within the Wastepaper industry, ideally a minimum of 5 years’ experience working in the waste management and recycling sector. Understanding of recovered paper and other recycling material qualities. General knowledge of the local authority sector. Successful business growth in a competitive commercial environment. Experience of developing tenders. Knowledge of UK and European waste and recycling legislation. Be educated to a good standard at A-Level or above.

Skills needed from you:

Excellent organisational and administrative skills along with strong written and verbal communication and influencing abilities. Demonstrate proficiency in negotiating, influencing, and driving change across Procurement, coupled with commercial acumen and a solid understanding of financial matters in a business context. The ability to deliver presentations to a wide-ranging audience. Excellent relationship building and networking skills. Be determined and focused with a drive for results, with the ability to manage pressure. Good knowledge and experience of marketing tools. Confident with Microsoft Office and other IT packages.

You will predominantly be working in the office, with the occasional travel as and when required. There will need to be an element of flexibility, as there could be some out of hours working from time to time.
