Overview
As the Director Local Medical Communications, you will play a pivotal role in developing and executing the business strategy to drive growth and revenue for our local markets, focused on Pharmaceutical/Biotech companies within Springer Healthcare. In addition to leading the commercial efforts, you will also have full P&L responsibility for the division, ensuring financial targets are met or exceeded. Moreover, you will manage and provide oversight to the production and editorial teams, ensuring the delivery of high-quality scientific content and services. This role requires deep knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry, excellent leadership skills, and a proven track record in global commercial management.
Responsibilities
Develop and execute a comprehensive business strategy for medical communications at an affiliate/regional level, including market analysis, segmentation, pricing and revenue projections. Assume full Profit & Loss (P&L) responsibility for the pharma local services division, including budgeting, financial forecasting, and meeting profitability targets. Identify and cultivate global business opportunities, strategic partnerships and alliances within the pharmaceutical communications sector. Lead and mentor a high-performing global sales team to meet or exceed revenue goals, closely monitor performance, ensure effective communication and collaboration, and provide ongoing training and support. Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with pharmaceutical companies, research institutions, and industry associations to drive customer satisfaction and loyalty. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams on product and content development to ensure that our pharma local offerings remain aligned with industry trends and regulatory requirements. Manage and provide guidance to the production and editorial teams, ensuring effective communication and collaboration, and the timely delivery of high-quality scientific content and services. Stay abreast of industry trends, competitor activities, and regulatory changes to adapt the global commercial strategy accordingly. Monitor and report key performance metrics, sales forecasts, and market insights to senior management and stakeholders.Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business, Life Sciences, or a related field (Master's degree preferred). Global leadership experience in pharma education, pharmaceutical sales, or related fields. In-depth knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry, including pharma local trends and regulations. Demonstrated track record of achieving and exceeding revenue targets and effectively leading global sales teams. Demonstrated track record of leading global/multicultural teams including operations and editorial teams Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills. Strong analytical skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions. Excellent leadership and team management capabilities. Proven ability to establish and nurture strategic relationships. Innovative and creative thinking with a focus on delivering results.#LI-RP1
