CAMHS Practitioner- Art Pyschotherapist

The Emotional Health Service (EHS) is a dynamic and progressive multi-disciplinary team of Clinical and Counselling Psychologists, CBT Therapists, Systemic Psychotherapists and Art Psychotherapists. We have teams at Richmond (Twickenham base), and Kingston (Chessington base) and work closely with our colleagues in Early Help and Social Care. As a CAMH service we have a strong sense of team and work together to support children and young people’s emotional wellbeing. We also work to prioritise the wellbeing of the staff team.

The post is full time, permanent and will involve working in schools across Kingston with touch down office space in Richard Challoner School.

About the role

As an Art Psychotherapist in the EHS in Kingston you will be passionate about improving the mental health of children and young people and putting them at the centre of all you do. You will be part of an established team and be afforded many different opportunities to use your skills, including undertaking assessments, delivering treatments, working alongside schools and partner agencies and delivering training. 

This post will sit within CAMHS Trailblazer Mental Health Support Teams (MHST) in Kingston. This MHST team has been in place since January 2021 and consists of four Educational Wellbeing Practitioners (EWPs), another CAMHS Creative Practitioner, a CAMHS Mental Health Clinician and a part-time Clinical Lead. We are looking to develop the team with a clinician who will be in the role of CAMHS Practitioner. 

The MHST work within a cluster of primary and secondary schools with a combined total population of 8,000 pupils each. MHSTs work jointly with schools and cluster leads to implement a whole school approach to mental health across the cluster, informed by the needs outlined on the cluster action plan. In Kingston, we have a specific focus on gender and mental health.
