Position Overview

Kingston University is in search of a skilled and enthusiastic technician to enhance our Printmaking and Book Arts Workshop. The selected individual will collaborate with a team of fellow technicians to provide exceptional support in our facilities.

Key Responsibilities

The primary responsibility of this role is to assist in the operations of the Letterpress and Book Arts facilities. Candidates should possess practical knowledge and experience in these disciplines. However, we welcome applicants from diverse printmaking backgrounds, as relevant skills in other techniques may be applicable, given a willingness to learn and adapt to the specifics of Letterpress and Book Arts.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will be a creative professional with a solid understanding of modern Printmaking, Letterpress, and Book Arts. This role involves working with students across various levels, including foundation, undergraduate, postgraduate, and PhD programs, as well as collaborating with both technical and academic staff.

Experience in teaching Printmaking techniques within an educational context is crucial. Furthermore, the candidate must demonstrate excellent communication skills, effective time management, and a proven ability to work collaboratively, fostering an environment that encourages experimentation and high-quality student output.
