The expanding Division of Psychology & Psychological Therapies is seeking a clinical and or forensic Psychologist to join our expanding service which now incorporates the learning disability forensic support team in North Derbyshire

This is an exciting post is seeking a clinical and or forensic psychologist to join a division of nearly 300 psychologists and psychological therapists in Derbyshire and work with our Consultant Psychologist in the learning disability forensic team. The post holder will be a key contributor to the development of psychological and learning disability forensic services within Derbyshire.

This post involves working with the Consultant Psychologists in the learning disability forensic team in North Derbyshire and other multi-disciplinary team and services.

We are looking to recruit a registered clinical psychologist who will actively contribute to the service's progression and ongoing development.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate must have an enthusiasm and experience of working with adults with learning disabilities and/or autism and experience of service development.

You will need to work flexibly both directly in clinical settings and through remote contact with clients, carers and colleagues.

You will need to be able to meet the travel requirements of the post and have access to a private and secure space for remote working practices.

Qualifications and Registration

Essential

Post-graduate doctorate in Clinical Psychology as accredited by the BPS /HCPC including specifically models of psychopathology, clinical psychometrics and neuropsychology, two or more distinct psychological therapies and lifespan development psychology Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council, eligible for chartered status with the BPS, post qualification training in supervision

Desirable

Post qualifications in area of specialty , a specific therapeutic intervention.

Experience

Essential

Extensive experience of working as a qualified clinical psychologist in a relevant clinical speciality including at a highly specialist level Experience of specialist psychological practice with clients across a broad range of settings including experience of working with clients with learning disabilities and/or autism with a range of complex difficulties Working with multidisciplinary staff teams to support the delivery of therapeutic care and experience of working across team and interagency working Highly specialist assessment and therapeutic skills related to complex, severe and enduring psychological problems experienced by adults with learning disabilities and/or autism and additional complex needs including communication difficulties, sensory difficulties, comorbid mental health and complex/challenging behaviour

Desirable

Experience of psychological clinical leadership and planning, supervising the work of a multidisciplinary team and holding clinical leadership roles and responsibilities Expertise and interest in a specialist area relevant to the client group Experience and skills in adapting knowledge of the theory and practice of specialised psychological therapies and methodologies to adults with learning disabilities and/or autism and associated complex needs
